We, the people of West Shield, have been blessed with many traditions and teachers that held this knowledge and passed it on to be used in a good way.

Kam Lau is available to offer readings for individuals seeking answers regarding their dilemmas and/or their own path on this earth.

Kam uses Medicine Cards as well as meditation and the rattle as a means of reaching into a persons personal vibration to clearly divine the messages that are to be given. Readings are personal in nature and are interactive.

Kam has been assisting people find the answers for their growth for many years and are well known for their abilities. Over the years they have traveled nationally as well as internationally to hold readings for people.

Arrangements for readings are handled by the office, which will coordinate the schedules and travel arrangements for Kam. Prices vary depending on location, amount of travel required and if the person hosting the readings also charges for this service. Readings are scheduled for an hour or one-half hour with an afternoon break for lunch. Times are flexible but must be committed prior to the arrival of Kam. If necessary, additional time slots can be added for those that were not scheduled but wish to have readings.

Recommended number of people: Reservations must be made in advance to guarantee the recovery of travel, accommodation and eating expenses to and from the area plus an income amount. Kam will commit to being at your location as many days as needed to complete this schedule as well as accommodate any individuals that weren’t scheduled but wish to have readings. Quite often groups also wish to schedule a Sweat Lodge during this time. West Shield will never charge any individual to attend a Sweat Lodge but appreciates any donations that are given. The giving of a donation is voluntary and indicates the intent, appreciation and exchange of energy needed to balance the gift received.

Materials needed: Private rooms for readings where there will be no distractions or disturbances. Table large enough to accommodate two chairs, card table is perfectly acceptable.

Time needed: Kam will do readings as needed but prefer to schedule from 9:00 AM with a break at 12:00 Noon and resume at 1:00 PM until done. It is expected that readings will be scheduled in advance up until 5:00 PM and that any additions will fit in after that time.

Cost: $65.00 per hour for readings and $40.00 for each one-half hour. If your organization charges on top of this fee for the use of space and time, please advise our office so that informational material will reflect the full amount charged.

Sometimes Kam will have someone traveling with him who will oversee the scheduling and also collect monies due prior to readings. We have found that this makes it smoother for the person hosting the readings as well as the readers and clients. This will be part of the advance arrangements and we are open to suggestions and sensitive to others needs.

West Shield offers many opportunities for workshops and seminars. Kam, as well as teachers associated with West Shield, are available to do multi-day workshops, weekend or day seminars or even be available for segments within a previously organized workshop or seminar where the hosts bring together many teachers and have arranged a specific schedules of their own.

We offer structured workshops and seminars of our own scheduling but are also unique in that you, as host, are free to work with us to design schedules according to your individual group of people. We find that when people work together in a group, or even have a circle of friends and acquaintances that they become sensitive to the needs of this group. In this environment hosts know what they would like to present and even enjoy the process of putting together a format and theme for the event.

We are very flexible in this and offer the following only as guide and not as finished product. It is important to note that, to us, a workshop differs from seminar in length. We visualize a workshop as a multi-day retreat format and a seminar as one to two days at most with people staying elsewhere and coming for the day only. Each topic and outline below can be utilized in both formats; however, the seminar is, by nature, less intensive.

Illusion

Learn how humans today tend to create a world of illusion for themselves. Through the use of habits and patterns we have learned to mask the truth and constantly wonder why we don’t get anywhere; why we keep doing the same thing the same way and expecting a different result; why we can’t get below the surface to the real person within.

Workshops focused on Illusion teach us to break free of the self-created illusions and learn to live in the present.

Personal Growth and Empowerment – When did you retreat and why?

This workshop aids the individual at clearly identifying when and why they retreated. They will recognize when and why the “shut down” and focus on the beginning of this restriction of growth. They will be taught and empower themselves to peel away the restrictive habits and create a more blessed life full of expansion not repression. We often hear of life and growth compared to the pealing of an onion; but forget that onions can re-grow. In this workshop you will develop the skills to recognize the health of the new growth or the need to peel again.

Learn to listen and nourish the longing within and to acknowledge and rejoice in your “wins” as well as your “losses”.

Our Mother – my teacher. The teachings of Mother Earth and her children, the animals.

Often times we humans look for a teacher, also human, who will teach us and “train” us and forget that Great Spirit placed us in the arms of the true teacher – Mother Earth. This workshop focuses on the ways of the animals and of Mother Earth. Individuals will learn that the knowledge shared by the true teachers of Great Spirit is theirs for the asking. We hear gallant statements of our need to heal the Earth but need to remember that it is she that heals us.

Tears No More – healing the sadness within

There are so many people in this Earth Walk that, no matter how much they try they cannot find their inner joy. Usually, it is because of the blocks that we’ve created very young in our lives that we may have been needed as protectors but then they became our excuse and even jailor.

This workshop focuses on understanding those blocks, reaffirming their ally relationship and releasing them in a good way. Participants will become familiar with their true allies and spiritual guides and will come away with the tools to live a more productive life free of the encumbrances of fear. It will open the doors to self-acknowledgement and growth and reconnect the individual with their true destiny.

Life’s Medicine Wheel

Life is a series of circles within circles. Each change in our life happens on the path of these circles. Nothing in Great Spirit’s universes is stagnant and energy can’t stand still. That leaves us humans in need of understanding.

This workshop focuses on the places and events of what Native American’s call the Medicine Wheel of Life. Participants will learn the places and positions of the Wheel and learn to recognize the events in their lives in terms of proper order. They will learn to discern the cycles within cycles and find focus and clarity in chaos and learn to use the same chaos to their advantage. Participants will come to recognize where they are in the wheel and also learn to use the cycles to their best advantage. They will learn that outcomes are lessons to be applied and wisdom to be gained and will learn to flow thru life in a more exciting and proactive way, not a reactive way. They will learn discernment replaces judgment and compassion replaces misunderstanding.

Deeper Understandings of Individual Animals

This workshop is actually an intensive workshop based in the teaching on an individual animal. If it is a multi-day seminar then depending on the number of days, an overview will be presented combining a short teaching of the animals being presented and how they interrelate. Then different days, or segments are dedicated to a particular animal and at the end they are brought together.

This workshop teaches, in depth, how to learn about, observe, gain wisdom and knowledge from and finally to apply the teachings of the animals being presented.

Customized Workshops and Seminars

As discussed earlier, workshops and seminars can be customized and designed by the hosts in conjunction with facilitators at West Shield. This enables you to bring the teachings that you have been considering to your circle in a manner that you help to determine. This is a very powerful workshop and we have found through the years can bring a group of people working together to a new level of understanding and growth.
